PJTN’s Founder Moore Talks Taking Back America’s Children Conference Success as School Boards Hold the Key to Children and America’s Future

Feb 18, 2023

Live from Music Row, Friday morning on The Tennessee Star Report with Michael Patrick Leahy – broadcast on Nashville’s Talk Radio 98.3 and 1510 WLAC weekdays from 5:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. – host Leahy welcomed PJTN’s founder and CEO, Laurie Cardoza-Moore in studio to talk about the national tour of Taking Back America’s Children.

Leahy: In studio with us, Laurie Cardoza-Moore with Proclaiming Justice to the Nations. Good morning, Laurie.

Moore: Good morning, Michael.

Leahy: Kind of fun being in studio here at this hour. Now, I have to say I made some really good coffee for you.

Moore: I know you did, but you left out the most important part.

Leahy: I left out the cream. (Moore laughs) So during the break, we’re going to have to; I think I know where to find it here in this maze. But see, I have this good coffee that I made and I’m drinking it right now, and you’re just going to have to wait till the break. I’m sorry. Last time you were here…

Moore: Ladies and gentlemen, I know the secret to Michael Patrick Leahy. It’s his coffee.

Leahy: It’s my coffee.

Moore: It’s strong. No wonder he’s so full of energy every morning when he shows up here every morning.

Leahy: That’s why you need a lot of cream in it. Laurie, you’ve done some great work at Proclaiming Justice to the Nations. How long have you been doing that for?

Moore: We have been at this since 2002, six months after 911.

Leahy: It’s on the web at pjtn.org. You actually hold conferences around the country. I know you just had one here in Tennessee. You’re going to have one in Ohio where we have The Ohio Star up in March.

Moore: Taking Back America’s Children. It’s going to be in Hudson, Ohio, just south of the Cleveland area. And we’ve already got people signing up to participate. Michael, people are fed up with what’s happening in our country, and they realize that it’s going to take a long time to change what’s happening in Washington, D.C. But where we can make the most effective changes in the shortest amount of time is on the local level.

And we, of course, at PJTN are starting with the school board because those of you that have been listening to Michael for years, you know that back a decade ago we were able to flip the school board in Williamson County because the Williamson County School Board and superintendent back then Mike Looney, and of course…

Leahy: Can I just interject.

Moore: Yes, absolutely.

Leahy: The aptly named Mike Looney. I mean, really, you couldn’t make it up. His last name was Looney, and he was looney. Now he’s loony down in Fulton County, Georgia.

Moore: Yeah, well, the poor people down there, they’ve got their hands full. But no, this is important. If we’re going to take back our country, it starts on the local level. We have to take control over our school boards because our school boards hold the keys to the future, our children’s future, but also the future of this Republic.

And we have been involved in exposing the content that our school board in Williamson County and the school boards across the state have been adopting a curriculum that is not in line with Tennessee values. The curriculum is not accurate. It is biased, and it does not reflect our values.

And it’s the only way we’re going to change that, ladies and gentlemen is if you and I get involved. We can’t sit on the bench and say, coach, send me in. We have to take the initiative ourselves. We can’t wait for it to happen. So no, Michael. I’m excited about what we’re going to do in Ohio.

This is taking off. We have had requests from the dozens in Virginia to review their civic standards. I was on the phone with a school board member in Pennsylvania yesterday, talking about doing the same thing in Pennsylvania in his school district. So it’s picking up, Michael,

Leahy: Put me in, coach. The classic John Fogarty song.

Moore: I know. I’m showing my age.

Leahy: No, I love it. That is my all-time favorite song.

Moore: And I didn’t do that.

Leahy: Well, the other thing, John Fogarty. Great performer. Left-wing lunatic. I mean, extraordinaire, but a wonderful performer.

Phil Williams’ Use of Phone Call Recorded by ‘Someone in the Room’ Not a Party to the Call in NewsChannel 5 Report Raises Questions About His Journalistic Credibility

Matthew Giffin, a reporter for The Tennessee Star, and Michael Patrick Leahy, editor-in-chief and CEO of The Star, questioned the legality of News Channel 5’s airing of a so-called secret recording of a call between Tennessee State Representative Todd Warner (R-Chapel Hill) and Americans for Prosperity – Tennessee (AFP-TN) State Director Tori Venable.

On Monday, the news outlet ran investigative reporter Phil Williams’ 8-minute anti-school choice hit piece focused on AFP-TN’s push for state lawmakers to advance the governor’s bill.

Author Peter Schweizer Reveals the Reason Why American Leaders Refuse to Push Back on China

Peter Schweizer, author of Blood Money: Why the Powerful Turn a Blind Eye While China Kills Americans, said a majority of U.S. leaders are silent on China’s role in inciting American issues due to their personal, financial entanglement with the foreign nation.

Schweizer said his book focuses on a multitude of American issues – including crime and drugs – and details the “overwhelming evidence” connecting China to such issues.
