Tom Zawistowski Details Findings in Latest Poll Surveying Ohio Voters

Aug 23, 2024

Tom Zawistowski, president of the We the People Convention, conducted a poll for the closely watched Ohio U.S. Senate race between incumbent Sherrod Brown (D-OH) and Republican nominee Bernie Moreno, which showed that the race is “dead even.”

Zawistowski said he polled 273 individuals chosen randomly from a phone database over a two-day period earlier this week and asked respondents about the U.S. Senate and presidential races and the overall direction of the nation.

“In the Senate race, after Sherrod Brown has spent nearly $45 million dollars on TV in June and July and into August, the race is tied. Brown is 46.5 percent and Moreno is 46.5 percent. It’s dead tight, dead even,” Zawistowski said.

Brown, who has been serving in the U.S. Senate since 2007, has booked $43 million in advertisements since April, while Moreno just recently booked a $25 million ad buy ahead of the November 5 general election, according to a report by Politico.

Regarding the nation’s direction, Zawistowski said most of the poll’s respondents said the country is heading in the wrong direction.

“In our poll, 61 percent said we’re headed in the wrong direction, 32.5 percent said we’re headed in the right direction, and then 6.5 percent were unsure,” Zawistowski said.

In terms of the presidential race between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump, Zawistowski said Trump continues to lead Harris; however, they noted how the gap has closed a few points from Trump’s nearly 15-point lead when the Democratic nominee was incumbent President Joe Biden.

“Now, in the presidential race here in Ohio, President Trump is winning 51.5 percent to Harris’ 42 percent. So that’s a 9.5, 10 percent gap with Kennedy at 3 percent and 3.5 percent undecided. That number is not surprising to me, but I would say that before Harris was installed as their nominee, Trump was probably going to win Ohio by 15 percent, so it was a little bit of erosion,” Zawistowski explained.

Reporter Tom Pappert: Lawfare Skullduggery in Pennsylvania Proves Democrats Are in Denial After Election Losses

Tom Pappert, reporter at The Pennsylvania Daily Star, said Democrats’ ongoing refusal to accept the election results of the Pennsylvania U.S. Senate race which saw Republican Dave McCormick defeat incumbent Democrat Bob Casey (D-PA) is textbook “election denialism.”

While The Associated Press called the race for McCormick two days after Election Day last week, Casey has refused to concede.
