Reporter Tom Pappert: Lawfare Skullduggery in Pennsylvania Proves Democrats Are in Denial After Election Losses

Nov 18, 2024

Tom Pappert, reporter at The Pennsylvania Daily Star, said Democrats’ ongoing refusal to accept the election results of the Pennsylvania U.S. Senate race which saw Republican Dave McCormick defeat incumbent Democrat Bob Casey (D-PA) is textbook “election denialism.”

While The Associated Press called the race for McCormick two days after Election Day last week, Casey has refused to concede.

With 99 percent of the state reporting, McCormick leads Casey by 17,444 votes (48.8 percent-48.6 percent).

The race’s closeness has triggered an automatic recount, with Democratic election attorney Marc Elias joining the Casey recount effort.

Meanwhile, in Bucks County, notoriously known for being a swing county within the state, two Democratic members of the Bucks County Commission voted to count ballots the Pennsylvania Supreme Court has previously determined are illegal—a move that triggered immediate lawsuits from the Pennsylvania Republican Party, Republican National Committee, and McCormick’s political campaign.

Pappert called the developments in Bucks County “unbelievable Democratic hubris,” adding that the effort is simply a violation of election law.

“Bob Casey is going full into election denialism,” Pappert said on Monday’s edition of The Michael Patrick Leahy Show.

Regarding Elias joining the effort to overturn the election in favor of Casey, Pappert noted that the Pennsylvania U.S. Senate race is the only race Elias could get involved in, given that Republicans had decisive victories in all other swing states that could not be challenged.

“I don’t mean to denigrate our friend Marc Elias, but he had an entire election integrity…system set up prior to this election. He thought he was going to be getting rich off all of the lawfare. Instead, there was a commanding landscape electoral mandate for President-elect Donald Trump. Marc Elias wouldn’t have an income if it wasn’t for [Pennsylvania],” Pappert said.

“It’s going to be a long four years for Marc Elias as he waits for another opportunity to grift off his legal expertise,” Pappert added.
