Reporter Tom Pappert: Kamala Harris Running from Her Prosecutorial Record in California in Desperate Attempt to Win over Black Male Voters

Oct 17, 2024

Tom Pappert, lead reporter at The Tennessee Star, said Vice President Kamala Harris is outright “denying the truth” when it comes to her prosecutorial record in California in an attempt to win over black male voters in the November 5 general election.

On Tuesday, Harris gave an hour-long interview on the popular radio show The Breakfast Club, hosted by Charlamagne tha God.

During the interview, Harris dodged questions about her record as a prosecutor in California, specifically when it came to her office unjustly convicting thousands of black men for low-level marijuana offenses.

On Wednesday’s edition of The Michael Patrick Leahy Show, Pappert pointed out how Charlamagne tha God did not press Harris on one particular case during the time she was serving as San Francisco District Attorney, which saw a black man wrongly convicted of first-degree murder.

Jamal Trulove was wrongfully convicted in 2010 on a first-degree murder charge in San Francisco while Harris was San Francisco District Attorney.

After serving six years behind bars, a California appeals court overturned Trulove’s 2014 conviction. He was retried in 2015 and acquitted.

In 2016, Trulove sued the City of San Francisco and received a $13.1 million settlement.

Ahead of Tuesday’s interview, Trulove urged Charlamagne tha God to question Harris about his case, specifically if she has any “remorse” for him and others who were wrongfully convicted under her administration in San Francisco.

Despite his request, the question regarding Trulove’s case was not posed to Harris on Tuesday.

“I think her complete refusal to acknowledge Jamal Trulove or her own past actions that have harmed the black community in San Francisco was the Obama remnants of the Obama campaign coming in to slap some lipstick on the pig because they’re noticing that black men are not reliably voting Democrat anymore,” Pappert explained.

“I think this scares the heck out of them,” Pappert added.

Aside from the lack of discussion surrounding Trulove’s case, Pappert said Harris’ claim during Tuesday’s interview that she was a prosecutor “known for giving people a break” was an outright lie.

“She flatly denied the truth. It is a verifiable fact. This is not up for debate that thousands of black men were put in jail by Kamala Harris and her office…for low level marijuana offenses. She lied directly to the American people last night and said flatly that this didn’t happen and that, in fact, she was a prosecutor who was known for giving those people a break,” Pappert said.

“Her claims just do not comport with the reality on the ground or even her 2003 campaign materials in which Kamala Harris said, yes, I’m a progressive, but I’m still going to be tough on crime,” Pappert added.

Reporter Tom Pappert: Joe Biden ‘Deeply Resentful’ of Democratic Party, Sabotaging Kamala Harris’ Campaign for Revenge

Tom Pappert, lead reporter at The Tennessee Star, said he believes President Joe Biden is “sabotaging” Vice President Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign out of “pure resentment” for how the Democratic Party pushed him to end his reelection bid.

On Tuesday, Biden said on a Zoom call with members of the nonprofit organization Voto Latino that supporters of former President Donald Trump were “floating…garbage.”
