Michael Patrick Leahy, CEO and editor-in-chief of The Tennessee Star, said Vice President Kamala Harris’ blunders on the presidential campaign trail are so significant that “nobody would believe it” if she was elected president in the November 5 general election.
During Tuesday’s edition of The Michael Patrick Leahy Show, Leahy dedicated a segment to Harris’ questionable move to attack Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ preparation for Hurricane Milton, specifically the governor’s lack of communication with Harris ahead of the storm.
While speaking to an NBC reporter, Harris called DeSantis “selfish” for not speaking with Harris as Hurricane Milton made its way towards Florida, saying, “It is utterly irresponsible and it is selfish and it is about political gamesmanship instead of doing the job that you took an oath to do which is to put the people first. ”
On Fox News’ “Fox & Friends,” DeSantis said Harris was “delusional” for saying that his response ahead of the storm was “selfish,” adding, “She’s been vice president for three and a half years – I’ve dealt with a number of storms under this administration. She has never contributed anything to any of these efforts.”
DeSantis added, “I’ve had storms under both President Trump and President Biden and I’ve worked well with both of them. She’s the first one who’s trying to politicize the storm, and she’s doing that just because of her campaign. She’s trying to get some type of an edge. She knows she’s doing poorly, and so she’s playing these political games. I don’t have time for political games. I’ve got people whose lives are on the line…I’m not worried about playing her political games and she is being selfish by trying to blunder into this when we’re working just fine.”
Leahy called DeSantis’ response a “takedown” of Harris.
“That is a takedown and again, it’s another blunder by the Harris campaign,” Leahy said.
Leahy went on to call Harris’ attack, saying that DeSantis is “selfish” for not communicating with her ahead of the storm, “small and petty,” further questioning the motive behind the attack.
“What’s she thinking? Why does she think that kind of attack is a good thing? It’s clearly not,” Leahy said.
“Here’s where we are on all this – if the results on November 5th were to come back and say that Kamala Harris has won, nobody will believe it. That’s how bad she is,” Leahy added.
