Matt Boyle: House Republicans Need to Focus ‘Exclusively’ on Putting the Heat Directly on Joe Biden Until November

Mar 28, 2024

Matt Boyle, the national political editor at Breitbart News, said Republican members of the U.S. House of Representatives need to “put the heat directly on” President Joe Biden from now until the November 5 General Election in order to “save America.”

Boyle, discussing the recent Motion to Vacate filed against House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA-04), said changing speakers does not change the chamber’s voting makeup, adding that Johnson “must play the hand he’s dealt.”

“I don’t think it would be wise to do a vacate motion against Johnson now in an election year. What they need to do is they need to get their team together and understand that we have six months to save America. They need to bring the heat directly to Joe Biden. They need to use the majority, and the Republicans need to learn how to fight fire with fire. They’ve got plenty of deadly facts against the Biden family and their corruption. They need to learn how to weaponize information back the other way,” Boyle explained on Wednesday’s edition of The Michael Patrick Leahy Show.

“This is a fight for the future of the country. They need to start acting like it. If the Republicans get their collective you-know-what together and start putting lead on target with regard to Biden, I think speaker Johnson will be okay. He will, possibly, pay a price for this stuff down the road, but I think he’s got to focus exclusively on putting the heat directly on Joe Biden over the course of the next six months,” Boyle added. “Republicans need to get it together.”

Pivoting to the 2024 presidential race, Boyle, who has interviewed former President Donald Trump on multiple occasions, said he believes the former president “feels positive” about his current standing in the race among voters.

“I think [Trump] feels as though, not that he has it in the bag, but he understands that the left is going to do all sorts of different funky things to try to screw with him. I do think that he feels positive about where things stand. You look across the battleground states, he’s leading. You look at the national polls, he’s leading. This is something that he never had in 2016 or 2020. He was never leading, basically anywhere,” Boyle explained.

Despite Trump’s lead in the polls, Boyle acknowledged the fight ahead and how Democrats may have some hidden tricks ahead of the election.

“Things are looking good for [Trump]. That being said, he understands that there’s a major fight ahead of him and that we’ve got seven months until election day, we have a long road ahead of us, and the Democrats are going to try all sorts of different things. They’re going to do the continued lawfare, I’m sure there’s some surprises that are coming that we’ve never seen before from the radical left and from the Democrats. That being said, things are looking very positive right now for Donald Trump and he knows it. So it’s his election to lose at this point, and I think he understands that,” Boyle said.

Roger Simon on Pro-Hamas, Anti-Israel Protests on College Campuses: ‘What Happened in Germany in 1937’ Is ‘What We’re Undergoing Now’

Roger Simon, the co-founder of PJMedia and current columnist for The Epoch Times, said the pro-Hamas protests unfolding on Ivy League college campuses across the nation are comparable to the scene in Germany in 1937.

Simon made the comments on Tuesday’s episode of The Michael Patrick Leahy Show after listening to audio of a clip taken from Columbia University where pro-Palestine protesters formed a human chain to keep Jewish students out of an encampment on the university’s campus.

NewsChannel 5’s Phil Williams Refuses to Explain His Failure to Get Justin Jones on the Record about Allegations He Covered Up Report of 2020 Sexual Assault, Tries to Distract with False Claims About Tennessee Star Reporter

Tom Pappert, lead reporter at The Tennessee Star, addressed personal attacks from NewsChannel 5’s chief investigative reporter Phil Williams over the weekend, saying such attacks are “absolute silliness” and a common tactic used by Williams when pressed on his “journalistic failings.”

On Sunday, Pappert reported on an interview between Williams and Dan Mandis, host of Nashville’s Morning News with Dan Mandis on SuperTalk 99.7 WTN, where Williams said that he once asked Tennessee State Representative Justin Jones (D-Nashville) to respond to claims made by his former close colleague Jeneisha Harris on June 18, 2020 that the state lawmaker had covered up the sexual assault of two protesters by a homeless man.
