Jeff Hutt, a spokesman for the new Make America Healthy Again super political action committee (PAC) and former national field director for Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s presidential campaign, detailed how the new PAC is working with donors in the battleground states to help elect former President Donald Trump in the November 5 general election.
Earlier this month, the Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) Super PAC was formed by a group of ex-staffers of Kennedy’s now-suspended campaign. The goal of the PAC is getting out the vote for Trump from Americans who would have cast their vote for Kennedy in the general election.
Upon the suspension of his campaign, Kennedy has since encouraged his supporters in all states to vote for Trump in the November 5 general election.
Since its creation shortly after Kennedy suspended his campaign, the MAHA PAC has received donations ranging from $20 to $10,000, according to Hutt.
Hutt explained that the strategy of the PAC is to “negotiate” with donors in battleground states in order to strategize the best way the PAC would be successful in each state in regards to reaching former Kennedy supporters and urging them to support Trump.
“A lot of us on the PAC have come from the campaign world and we’re used to working with candidates. We’ve taken that same attitude and are working with donors because when it comes down to it, a lot of times it’s these donors, these active volunteers, and these active supporters who…a lot of times know far better what to do within their own communities than we do,” Hutt explained on Tuesday’s edition of The Michael Patrick Leahy Show.
“So it’s really an alliance, a partnership in which we work with our donors and with people. It’s been very exciting. The amount of feedback and the amount of support that we’ve gotten has been incredible,” Hutt added.
Hutt honed in on one donor in Michigan that has since donated to the MAHA PAC, detailing how that donor believes installing a series of billboards in “important counties” across the state would be a good way to reach voters about Kennedy’s message to vote for Trump as they make their way to the polls.
In addition to Michigan, Kennedy, despite formally suspending his campaign and requesting to be removed from battleground state ballots, also remains on the ballot in Wisconsin.
“We’ve had a donor come to us in Michigan and the donor said what we’d really like to do is we’d like to put a series of billboards up in these important counties, and we want to put them up near polling locations to make sure that when people are on their way to their polls or driving around the polls come election day, that they understand that even though that Kennedy is on the ticket, that Mr. Kennedy is telling folks to vote for President Trump,” Hutt said.
In addition to exploring ideas offered by donors including installing billboards in Michigan, Hutt said the MAHA Super PAC has plans to be on the ground at polling places to echo Kennedy’s message to cast their votes for Trump.
