‘Frankly Disturbing’: Cheryl Fritze Unravels Michigan Governor’s Viral Doritos Video

Oct 11, 2024

Cheryl Fritze, director of News Operations for Michigan News Source, said the viral video posted on Thursday showing Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer feeding a Doritos chip to left-wing podcaster Liz Plank is “frankly disturbing” and “very offensive to an awful lot of people.”

The video shows Whitmer, wearing a Harris-Walz camo ball cap, hand-feeding a chip to Plank, kneeling in front of the governor.

Since its posting, the video has gone viral as many accused the governor and podcaster of mocking a Eucharist ceremony, which is a sacrament in Catholicism.

Fritze said Michigan News Source reached out to the governor’s office to inquire if Whitmer was a “willing participant in the video or if it was AI-generated content by Plank,” to which the governor’s office confirmed Whitmer willingly participated in the “pop culture” trend.

The governor’s office also claimed that the video was a nod to the CHIPS and Science Act, which was signed into law by President Joe Biden in 2022.

“I can’t begin to get my mind into a place where I can explain this, but it is very offensive to an awful lot of people. That’s why it went viral yesterday, not because it was cute or the content was great, but because it was very offensive to those in the Christian, specifically the Catholic community,” Fritze explained on Friday’s edition of The Michael Patrick Leahy Show.

Fritze also touched on the “sexual innuendo” sense of the video, saying, “That was quite bizarre on her knees in front of the governor, opening her mouth and taking this Dorito.”

“The whole thing was frankly disturbing,” Fritze added.

Fritze explained that the governor’s participation in such content is a negative reflection on the “decorum” of the state’s highest office.

“Where does the decorum for the office of the highest office in the state of Michigan, where does that ever step in? Why not have a little decorum or integrity for the office you’re sitting in and respect for the people of Michigan,” Fritze said.

Reporter Tom Pappert: Lawfare Skullduggery in Pennsylvania Proves Democrats Are in Denial After Election Losses

Tom Pappert, reporter at The Pennsylvania Daily Star, said Democrats’ ongoing refusal to accept the election results of the Pennsylvania U.S. Senate race which saw Republican Dave McCormick defeat incumbent Democrat Bob Casey (D-PA) is textbook “election denialism.”

While The Associated Press called the race for McCormick two days after Election Day last week, Casey has refused to concede.
