FBI: ‘Clear Idea’ of Trump Shooter’s Mindset, But Still Has ‘No Definitive Motive’

On Wednesday, an FBI spokesman declared that while the FBI has put together a “clear idea” of the thought process behind actions of the 20-year-old man who tried to assassinate President Donald Trump, the agency still cannot officially determine what his motive was.

According to the Daily Wire, the announcement was made on a media call by Kevin Rojek, the special agent in charge of the FBI’s Pittsburgh field office. Thomas Matthew Crooks, the would-be assassin who injured President Trump and two other rallygoers and killed one man, had previously searched for both Donald Trump and Joe Biden events online, determining that the former’s July 13th rally in Butler, Pennsylvania was a “target of opportunity.”

The FBI also released pictures of the gun that was used by Crooks.

But the FBI still will not comment on any possible ideological motivations behind his actions, and has also claimed that there is no evidence of any co-conspirators or foreign nationals being involved in the attempt.

Rojek said that the FBI had conducted nearly 1,000 interviews, watched hundreds of hours of footage, and served many search warrants as it tries to get to the bottom of who Crooks was and why he tried to kill the former president.

The FBI, the Department of Justice (DOJ), and the Secret Service are still facing widespread backlash and scrutiny over their multiple security failures ahead of the rally that day, with Crooks being allowed to position himself, clearly visible and with a rifle, on a roof that was a mere 130 yards away from the stage where President Trump was speaking. Law enforcement appeared to completely ignore bystanders’ efforts to warn them about his presence.

Only after Crooks fired eight shots was he finally shot and killed by a Secret Service counter-sniper. The first shot grazed President Trump’s right ear, at which point he ducked for cover as Secret Service agents swarmed the stage to surround him. As the subsequent shots rang out, 50-year-old former fire chief Corey Comperatore was killed, while James Copenhaver and David Dutch were seriously injured, though both later recovered.

Additional developments have led to further mockery and criticism of the apparent incompetence of law enforcement, including the fact that the rooftop from which Crooks fired the shots was cleaned shortly thereafter, as well as Crooks’ body being cremated before the coroner could examine it.

Reporter Tom Pappert: Lawfare Skullduggery in Pennsylvania Proves Democrats Are in Denial After Election Losses

Tom Pappert, reporter at The Pennsylvania Daily Star, said Democrats’ ongoing refusal to accept the election results of the Pennsylvania U.S. Senate race which saw Republican Dave McCormick defeat incumbent Democrat Bob Casey (D-PA) is textbook “election denialism.”

While The Associated Press called the race for McCormick two days after Election Day last week, Casey has refused to concede.
