Crom’s Crommentary: You Can’t Unify the Country If the Party That Wins an Election Is Determined to Crush the Other Side

Apr 5, 2023

Live from Music Row, Wednesday morning on The Tennessee Star Report with Michael Patrick Leahy – broadcast on Nashville’s Talk Radio 98.3 and 1510 WLAC weekdays from 5:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. – host Leahy welcomed the original all-star panelist Crom Carmichael to the studio for another edition of Crom’s Crommentary.

CROM CARMICHAEL:

Michael perhaps for the first time my Crommentary is going to be actually done as I’m thinking about it, there are so many things that have happened recently that I’m trying to make some sense of them from a historical perspective. You may have already covered it. But I listened to the interview on my way in. It was a fascinating interview and what the situation is at our State Legislature.

But in Chicago, they elected a person that I think you and I believe is even going to be worse than Lori Lightfoot, but they elected a person who made it very clear what he intended to do. But the response by his opponent said, I ran for office on a campaign to bring the city together, and Brandon Johnson has won. And the people in the crowd said, no, no!

And he said do not question the election. We have to bring this city together. You can’t bring a city together if one side is determined to literally, once they’re elected just crush the other side. And so it’s an interesting thing.

And in Wisconsin, a Supreme Court judge that is a politician masquerading as a judge, and a leftwinger has now been elected, so it’s unlikely that Wisconsin election law for the 2024 presidential election will be a free and fair election.

And then I look at the two, and I look at what’s been happening to Trump over the years. Both of the impeachments were baseless. They weren’t high crimes or misdemeanors. Nancy Pelosi had enough control of the House that she could have said, we’re going to indict Donald Trump for picking his nose.

And they would’ve claimed that was a high crime, and then they would’ve solemnly gotten up there and talked about how nose-picking is terrible for the world and terrible for the environment. And the American people just can’t stand it any longer. And they did that twice.

Now we see the indictment, and you and I during the break wondered whether or not Alvin Bragg had something more than what has been reported and it turned out he even has less than what has been reported. He might as well have stood up and said, I don’t have anything.

But if somebody picked their nose in New York and if they flipped the booger on the street, look what that does to our city. It destroys our city. It leads to crime; it leads to pot smoking, it leads to rape, it’s boogers. Your honor, this is just terrible. This is terrible.

We must throw this man in prison for booger flipping. And that is what that is. What we have now in this country was used by Stalin who said, find me the man and I’ll find the crime. And if I can’t find the crime, I’ll make one up. And so that’s where we are with Trump.

But given all the other things that are going on and the ironic thing going on in Chicago, Obama has spent years trying to build this monument to himself in an area of the city that elected him. And in the process, all of the areas around it are the low-income people who are now being thrown out of their homes. And so they’re mad. They’re saying we elected you.

Why are you throwing us out of our homes? And Obama might as well have just said, if you think I care, boy, am I doing a good job of fooling you. Brandon Johnson, hey, welcome to Chicago. You’re doing the same thing that Obama did, and they’re going to fall forward again.

We are becoming a giant nation of Charlie Browns, and exactly where this heads, who knows. But yesterday, Michael, was not a good day in Chicago. It wasn’t a good day in Wisconsin, and it certainly wasn’t a good day for the country when it comes to the courts.

Immigration Expert Todd Bensman: ‘The Tariff Threat is Back’ with President-Elect Trump to Deter 400K Illegal Migrants from Crossing U.S. Southern Border

Todd Bensman, senior national security fellow at the Center for Immigration Studies, said he believes former and president-elect Donald Trump’s threat to impose hefty tariffs on Mexico if the country does not work to curb the flow of immigration into the U.S. will pressure the country to break up existing caravans with a goal of reaching the border.
