Crom’s Crommentary: A Scourge of Disgusting Things Is Blowing Across the Country

Apr 21, 2023

Live from Music Row Friday morning on The Tennessee Star Report with Michael Patrick Leahy – broadcast on Nashville’s Talk Radio 98.3 and 1510 WLAC weekdays from 5:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. – host Leahy welcomed original all-star panelist Crom Carmichael to the studio for another edition of Crom’s Crommentary.

CROM CARMICHAEL:

Michael, I left this show on Wednesday at 8 a.m., and I like to read, and so I see articles that I think will be interesting for the next show. And so I print them off. And I have in my hands six articles that I’ve printed off in, or maybe even seven, since the last show, having to deal with transgender issues now.

In Washington, the US House of Representatives passed a bill called The Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act of 2023 and that bill passed right along partisan lines. And it’s going be fascinating to see if women who have daughters or women who hope to have daughters believe their daughters ought to be able to, A, participate in sports against girls and whether or not boys should be allowed in the girls’ bathrooms across the country.

Because that’s where it’s headed, and then we also have, as I pointed out last time, the UN is now saying that sex between adults and teenagers should be perfectly legal and the idea of pedophilia is arcane and has no place in the world. And so this is what the Left stands for.

All of these are what I consider to be absolutely disgusting positions. But nonetheless, it’s there, and we’ll see how the voters react. You have in Denver two women wearing rainbow masks who were denied communion at a Catholic church, saying that the time communion is not a time for politics. And so if you’re going to try to make communion political, you can’t take it, so they were denied communion.

California Democrats want mandatory gender-neutral bathrooms in K-12 schools. That’s what I was talking about earlier. First, they start with one bathroom that is gender-neutral, and then they want all bathrooms to be gender-neutral because that’s the way it goes.

And so the voters are going to have to decide, and we’ll see how the voters act. And this is in state and local elections. Now I’m reading from the Washington Examiner. St. Louis Gender Clinic says fifth graders should be encouraged to be transgender. That’s what a clinic says.

Medical professionals. St. Louis Gender Clinic says fifth graders should be encouraged to be transgender. This explains what Ron DeSantis did in Florida should have been extended beyond just the third grade because this is what we’re dealing with.

Now this is an interesting headline. Democrats Who Make Their State Safe Havens for Transgender Kids Could be in Trouble. California, for example, has passed, I believe it has passed, or it’s considering a law. Colorado has passed it, and the governor signed it offering protection to minors who cross state lines to undergo gender surgery without telling their parents.

If the parents and the professionals who do it will be very liable and it will amount to tens of millions of dollars per lawsuit. And that would be the least of what would happen. And then Megyn Kelly, bless her heart, had a reaction that was just absolutely great.

And when this bill passed in Washington and all this stuff about men competing against women, Megyn Kelly is just screaming at women to stand up and find their voice and defend womanhood and defend letting girls compete competitively against only girls. So that’s what you have, Michael.

Two days ago, you have what I call a scourge just blowing across the country of just disgusting things. Just a few years ago, if somebody brought them up and said that this is reasonable, they would’ve been hounded down by both the left and the right, but now they’re lifted up and carried around in a parade by the left.

Aaron Gulbransen: Tennessee House Should Have Introduced a ‘Clean School Choice Bill’

Aaron Gulbransen, executive director of the Tennessee Faith and Freedom Coalition, said the Tennessee House of Representatives should have introduced a “clean” universal school choice bill instead of attaching additional incentives not particularly related to school choice to the bill.

While the governor’s school choice bill in the House includes additional incentives, the Senate’s version solely focuses on the governor’s proposal.

Michael Patrick Leahy, editor-in-chief and CEO of The Tennessee Star, said as a plaintiff in the case seeking to compel the Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) to release the manifesto left behind by the Covenant School shooter, he believes the the full manifesto should be released – not just the “documents in the car” found on the day of the shooting which Metro Legal suggests would satisfy the plaintiffs in the case.

Founder of Tea Party Nation Judson Phillips: 15 Years Later, the Tea Party Movement Was an ‘Abject Failure’

Judson Phillips, founder of Tea Party Nation, said 15 years after the Tax Day Tea Party, the movement’s effect on fiscal responsibility, limited government, and free markets in federal politics has been “an abject failure.”

“The Tea Party movement was an abject failure. There’s just no other way to put it. Look at where we are today. When the Tea Party movement started, it was triggered by Obama’s $787 billion stimulus package. Today, that’s a rounding error. The deficit was $10 billion when Obama took over in January 2009. Today, it’s $34 trillion. It’s going up by a trillion dollars every hundred days, and that rate is accelerating,” Phillips explained on Monday’s edition of The Michael Patrick Leahy Show.
