Center for Immigration Studies Executive Director Mark Krikorian: There’s Very Little Screening of Incoming Illegal Aliens for Health Problems or Criminal Behavior

Feb 23, 2024

Mark Krikorian, the executive director of the Center for Immigration Studies, said migrants who are crossing illegally into the U.S. are not being thoroughly screened for illnesses or criminal backgrounds.

“They often screen them before they go to detention, but they’re not being detained,” Krikorian explained on Thursday’s episode of The Tennessee Star Report with Michael Patrick Leahy. “As far as criminal behavior, they do run their names through some databases before they let them go, but that only works if we have records of them having committed crimes in the United States. The problem always with vetting is garbage in, garbage out. Do you think that the Somalia DMV or the medical records office or whatever in Venezuela is going to tell us anything about people? Of course not. So, yes, there is some kind of pro forma screening but it doesn’t really screen very much.”

Krikorian noted that approximately 3.5 million migrants have been knowingly taken into custody and released into the U.S. since President Joe Biden took the oath of office on top of approximately 2 million migrants who have evaded law enforcement and disappeared into the country unchecked.

“Some people often will talk about higher numbers because some of the numbers are people who were taken into custody and then bounced back, but the number of illegal immigrants who got in, this administration has taken into custody and then released, is close to three and a half million illegal immigrants,” Krikorian explained. “So these are people they had in their hands…So about three and a half million that they knowingly let in – not just that got by them. You add on top of that probably another two million who got by the Border Patrol because the Border Patrol was overwhelmed, having to go to Walmart to buy diapers for the illegal immigrants who turn themselves in, so you put it together something like probably close to six million illegal immigrants who actually have gotten in and settled here under Biden.”

In regards to crimes being committed by illegal aliens in the U.S., Krikorian argued that “every single crime committed by an illegal alien is one that should not have happened in the United States.”

“It’s not so much that Illegal immigrants are more criminal. I mean, other than the immigration crimes they’re committing. It’s that every single crime committed by an illegal alien is one that should not have happened in the United States,” Krikorian said. “So even if there’s one illegal immigrant in the entire country who commits a crime, well that person should not have been here and the government’s refusal to enforce the law is partly responsible for that crime having happened.”

Roger Simon on Pro-Hamas, Anti-Israel Protests on College Campuses: ‘What Happened in Germany in 1937’ Is ‘What We’re Undergoing Now’

Roger Simon, the co-founder of PJMedia and current columnist for The Epoch Times, said the pro-Hamas protests unfolding on Ivy League college campuses across the nation are comparable to the scene in Germany in 1937.

Simon made the comments on Tuesday’s episode of The Michael Patrick Leahy Show after listening to audio of a clip taken from Columbia University where pro-Palestine protesters formed a human chain to keep Jewish students out of an encampment on the university’s campus.

NewsChannel 5’s Phil Williams Refuses to Explain His Failure to Get Justin Jones on the Record about Allegations He Covered Up Report of 2020 Sexual Assault, Tries to Distract with False Claims About Tennessee Star Reporter

Tom Pappert, lead reporter at The Tennessee Star, addressed personal attacks from NewsChannel 5’s chief investigative reporter Phil Williams over the weekend, saying such attacks are “absolute silliness” and a common tactic used by Williams when pressed on his “journalistic failings.”

On Sunday, Pappert reported on an interview between Williams and Dan Mandis, host of Nashville’s Morning News with Dan Mandis on SuperTalk 99.7 WTN, where Williams said that he once asked Tennessee State Representative Justin Jones (D-Nashville) to respond to claims made by his former close colleague Jeneisha Harris on June 18, 2020 that the state lawmaker had covered up the sexual assault of two protesters by a homeless man.
