Official guest host and executive director of the Tennessee Faith and Freedom Coalition takes a moment to confront the false land ownership claims underpinning the horrific attack on Israel by Hamas on Tuesday’s episode of The Tennessee Star Report with Michael Patrick Leahy.
TRANSCRIPT
Aaron Gulbransen:
So I wanted to talk about the news – obviously, the news and going on in Israel. You had a major terrorist attack going on there – an awful, awful thing. We at the Tennessee Faith and Freedom Coalition are standing 1,000 percent to the 1,000th power with the nation of Israel and absolutely condemn Hamas, Iran, and the Biden administration for essentially handing Hamas the tools via Iran to murder and rape women and children in Israel.
It is my, and our, sincere hope that Israel wipes Hamas off the face of the earth.
I also want to condemn any group, whether it is in Tennessee, around the country, as we saw these horrific scenes going on also around the world, in Australia, where they were chanting horrible things. Or the Nazi symbols that we saw amongst leftists in New York City over the weekend in immediate response to these attacks.
I also want to condemn any groups that are holding solidarity rallies or events in support of what I call the fake nation, and I put this in air quotes of “Palestine.” And because you have anti-Semites in this country spreading lies – and I’m talking about the Rashida Tlaibs, the Ilhan Omars, the Democrat Socialists of America, the Democrat Socialists of Middle Tennessee, of which we have a couple of members of city council here in Nashville that are card-carrying members.
The list goes on.
I want to give you a brief history because the lies are being told by the Marxist left. And some of those people say the same lie or some of the same lies are repeated by people on what I’m calling the neo-populist movement.
So for the record: No, the nation of Israel and the Jews did not steal the land like Nazis like to say.
For the record: Israel exists on land that is smaller than the state of New Jersey.
There has never been an independent, “Palestinian” state – a self-identifiable, self-ruling, and recognized, “Palestinian” entity never existed until the Arab Palestinian national movement in the 20th century. The “Palestinians” were invented in the 1960s, the modern term, to distract from the fact that the Jewish state of Israel was a tiny sliver of land surrounded by huge and hostile Arab states.
Before that, “Palestine” was used as the name of a region, not a people. That term referring to the land was coined by the Romans a couple thousand years ago in an effort to de-Judaize the land of Israel after the Jews rose up for the second time against their Roman oppressors.
Between World War II, part of the land was owned by absentee landlords that lived in places like Cairo, Damascus, Beirut.
Jews wishing to live in their native land of Israel legally purchased land from absentee landowners living in Arab capitals. They actually went out of their way to avoid purchasing land that was already occupied where they might displace Arabs. They sought land that was largely uncultivated, swampy, cheap, without tenants – that sort of thing.
When Israel was founded, on the date – and of course, this is in the wake of the most evil person in the history of the world, Adolf Hitler, murdering 6 million Jews during World War II and the Holocaust – Arab nations attacked Israel on the date of its founding. They were planning to attack Israel in the lead-up to it.
So they were getting Arab Muslims out of the area, Palestine, so that they could drive the Jews into the sea without hurting Arab civilians. The plan was they would be able to crush the new Jewish state, and the Arabs that did leave were able to return back to their domiciles in a matter of weeks.
Instead, these Arab oppressive nations lost that war, and then they began claiming that Israel existed on stolen land. It wasn’t until a few decades later that the Arab Muslims in the region began to refer, referring to themselves as, “Palestinians.” That was in large part popularized by Yasser Arafat, who, by the way, if I remember correctly, was Egyptian.
Also, I’d encourage you to research, audience. Research The Balfour Declaration, the British mandate, and also the original U. N. mandate for Israel to see how much land that the current nation of Israel is versus what it should have gotten and was promised in modern times. Spoiler alert, it is a fraction of what it was promised.
The original mandate included what is now the nation of Jordan. And, of course, you’ll remember that during one of the wars, Israel actually captured the Sinai Peninsula, which later on gave it back. Israel offered the “Palestinians,” 97 percent of the land that they claimed to be fighting for in the year 2008.
Those offers were rejected with no counteroffer. Now, Israel voluntarily withdrew from Gaza. In 2005, which is the center of what we’re talking about over the last few days, they removed all soldiers and civilians and they gave full control to the “Palestinians” in the hopes for peace. Now we’ve seen what Hamas control of Gaza looks like.
So my overall point is: I and the Tennessee Faith and Freedom Coalition unequivocally support Israel. The lies about the modern history of Israel are hateful, anti-Semitic, and there is no place in society for them.
And lastly, we stand against all anti-Semitism and evil. The evil on the Left, as well as the garbage coming from certain neo-populist fake MAGA circles, those people are not one of us, they’re not conservatives.
And there’s no room on the Left and the right for anti-Semitism and Nazi ties.
