Roger Simon: Covenant Shooter Manifesto Release Delay an Attempt at Protecting the Transgender Movement

May 18, 2023

Live from Music Row Thursday morning on The Tennessee Star Report with Michael Patrick Leahy – broadcast on Nashville’s Talk Radio 98.3 and 1510 WLAC weekdays from 5:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. – host Leahy welcomed all-star panelist Roger Simon in studio to comment on the latest statements made regarding Metro Nashville Police Department Lieutenant Brent Gibson withholding Covenant Killer documents.

Leahy: In studio, the all-star panelist from The Epoch Times, Mr. Roger Simon. Roger, I promised that I would reveal to you and our listening audience, the declaration of the police officer in charge of Metro Nashville Police Department’s investigation into the Audrey Hale murder of six innocent members of the Covenant School on March 27th, and I have it now.

This is a declaration of Lieutenant Brent Gibson filed in the chancery court in the cases of the Tennessee Firearms Association, and also the Nashville Police Association yesterday at 2:51 p.m. Let me just read this to you. So it’s Lieutenant Brent Gibson. He’s had a long history as a police officer.

Metro Nashville Police Department officers have been investigating and gathering information relating to the shooting at Covenant School since it occurred on March 27th, 2023.

Brent Gibson says I am overseeing this investigation which is being conducted by a fluctuating number of police officers at the MNPD’s investigation into this matter is still an active ongoing criminal investigation and is an open matter.

Simon: Of what?

Leahy: We’ll see. The open element of it is important because Rule 16 of Tennessee Civil Procedures says you can’t release public records in an open investigation. Yeah. So there he is making that assertion. All right. Okay. But the police chief said there was only one shooter.

Simon: Yes.

Leahy: The week of the shooting.

Simon: And she’s been dead for a while.

Leahy: And she’s been dead for a long time. Yeah. Okay. Metro Nashville Police Department has been investigating, meeting with, and grieving with the families, working with state and federal agencies, reviewing the officer-involved shootings, interviewing and executing witnesses, executing search warrants, and gathering documents, items, and electronic files from the scene, the assailant’s home, and the assailant’s background.

Specifically, Metro Nashville Police Department is still in the process of gathering and reviewing the following records and conducting the following steps of the investigation. A, social media records from the past two years; B, internet and bank account records; C, phone records; D, autopsy and toxicology reports; E, records obtained from search warrants; F, medical records including records of psychiatric treatment; G, gun and ammunition account records; H, interviewing individuals identified in all the records and investigating the assailant’s actions for the months prior to the incident; and J, following up on information discovered during the process.

Simon: I revise what I used to be thinking. If this is true, and I take it, this man is being 100 percent honest.

Leahy: This is a sworn affidavit.

Simon: I will say this particularly because I’ve been harping on the toxicology of the medical reports as being the most important thing about this, and I’ll explain it a second. But if they still need more time to do that, and it seems like they could have gotten it done really, I’ve been told that these reports take a long time, particularly in the scientific area, then we have to give them the time to do it as long as it is ultimately released.

The reason I think the toxicology report is vastly more important than the manifesto and all the other ravings a lunatic is that the toxicology report will tell us what this woman has in her body for her transgender treatment because this is a real public interest across the country.

In fact, the world right now, because there’s so much transgenderism going on and nobody knows what all these medical things can lead to, and obviously, in this case, whatever was going on with her led her to be a rage killer. We can’t have more of that.

Leahy: I’m going to strike a note of skepticism on this. So she was killed on March 27th. Okay. They did an autopsy report. They do have toxicology reports because they are still reviewing the autopsy and toxicology reports. That autopsy report would’ve been completed within a couple of weeks and the toxicology report, it’s been seven weeks, Roger.  Come on. They’re not still reviewing it.

Simon: I think you’re very justified there in your skepticism, And the influence of the FBI we know is heavy here. And it is very important because I think the FBI is trying to protect it. It is very left-wing now. We’ve seen that. We see that in the Durham report. It’s all over it. And they’re trying to protect the transgender movement, which is part of the left.

Leahy: The policeman has a long record, a distinguished record. This is a sworn affidavit.

Simon: Yes.

Leahy: However, Come on. Toxicology report. Autopsy report. They’ve already been done and reviewed.

Simon: You think so?

Leahy: Oh, yeah.

Simon: Here’s the devil in the details. I’ve seen various kinds of reports like this, and there’s always one or two outliers. What they didn’t yet get is the whatever minor or whatever or might be major little thing that almost deliberately hangs out there to say it’s incomplete, and that might be going on too.

Leahy: Now it’s interesting. Medical records, including records of psychiatric treatment.

Simon: Yes.

Leahy: I’d be very interested in that.

Simon: Yes.

Leahy: Now, We’re not asking for that. We’re just asking for the manifesto and the autopsy report.

Simon: Apropo of that, there’s a wonderful article on Barry Weiss’s Free Press yesterday describing how pervasive left-wing thought has become in the psychiatric industry. In other words, when you go in for a psychiatric treatment, for a psychological treatment, what you’re getting is left-wing propaganda. It’s very scary.

Leahy: What happened to psychiatrists and librarians? They’ve all gone lefty. (Chuckles)

Simon: Both are bad, but our psychiatrists are worse.

Leahy: So let me give you some more. And this is a very extensive statement from the lieutenant in charge, Brent Gibson. Many of these documents must be subpoenaed and it takes time to get records back. Metro Nashville Police Department must then examine the content of the materials and the metadata. Metro Nashville Police Department needs to review the assailant’s messaging data, internet search histories, and any other relevant evidence. This often can be a time-consuming process.

Simon: That part of it, they should have gotten done already.

Leahy: Should have.

Phil Williams’ Use of Phone Call Recorded by ‘Someone in the Room’ Not a Party to the Call in NewsChannel 5 Report Raises Questions About His Journalistic Credibility

Matthew Giffin, a reporter for The Tennessee Star, and Michael Patrick Leahy, editor-in-chief and CEO of The Star, questioned the legality of News Channel 5’s airing of a so-called secret recording of a call between Tennessee State Representative Todd Warner (R-Chapel Hill) and Americans for Prosperity – Tennessee (AFP-TN) State Director Tori Venable.

On Monday, the news outlet ran investigative reporter Phil Williams’ 8-minute anti-school choice hit piece focused on AFP-TN’s push for state lawmakers to advance the governor’s bill.

Author Peter Schweizer Reveals the Reason Why American Leaders Refuse to Push Back on China

Peter Schweizer, author of Blood Money: Why the Powerful Turn a Blind Eye While China Kills Americans, said a majority of U.S. leaders are silent on China’s role in inciting American issues due to their personal, financial entanglement with the foreign nation.

Schweizer said his book focuses on a multitude of American issues – including crime and drugs – and details the “overwhelming evidence” connecting China to such issues.
